ICYF-DC launches photo contest on tolerance

Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation (ICYF-DC) invites photographers and interested parties to take part in a photo contest which will be a great platform for young photographers to demonstrate the tolerance and inspire the society.

Photo4tolerance contest involves an international youth photo contest, a festival, and awards ceremony. It was created on the basis that young people have something to say about their world and can become actors of change. The aim of the Photo4tolerance International Photo Contest is to encourage young people to recognize the importance of dialogue in overcoming differences. The contest is initiated and financed by the ICYF-DC.

The contest is open to all professional and amateur photographers among 16-35 years old. Photographers, both professional and amateur, are asked to submit photos illustrating the importance of tolerance and respect for the rights of persons belonging to different ethnic, linguistic, religious, cultural or other groups. Non-professional photographers are particularly encouraged to participate.

Selected photographs will be displayed in a special exhibition organized by ICYF-DC. The prize for the 9 winners will be distributed in the award ceremony of the Photo4tolerance Contest.

The winners will be announced in late July. All participants will get Certificate whose name will enter shortlist.

The prize for the 9 winners:

1st place- 3000 EURO (one winner)
2nd place- 2000 EURO (two winners)
3rd place -3×1000 EURO (three winners)

Special Prize: Apple Mini-ipad (two winners)
Public Vote: Professional photo camera (one winner)

The photos of the runners-up and winners will be published on the Special catalogue and Facebook page.


ü  Participants must be between 16-35 years old.

ü  Interested parties are required to register at www.photo4tolerance.com and submit their photos on “Upload Your Photos” section of the website or send them info@photo4tolerance.com.

ü  Contributions must have a title and include a short explanation, using a maximum of 150 characters, indicating the country, city or region where and whenthe picture was taken.

The entries submitted by the photographers will be assessed by an international jury.

The deadline for submissions of entries is 15 July 2014, 24:00 (midnight) Central European Time.
