ISESCO Headquarters. Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco, 27 October 2017. Today, the President of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation (ICYF-DC) Amb. Elshad Iskandarov signed the Protocol of Cooperation for the years 2018-2019 with the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO).
The signing came on the sidelines of the International Workshop on “the Role of Youth and Migration Challenges”, hosted by ISESCO, and co-organized by ICYF-DC and IOM for the purpose of enhancing national coordination mechanisms, supporting youth migrant engagement, and identifying frameworks for media and social media coverage of migrant issues.
During the briefing for local and international press attending the signing ceremony Amb. Elshad Iskandarov, while expressing the extent to which cooperation in relevant shared domains of action between the respective parties, and emphasized the dedication of ICYF-DC towards intensifying its efforts in service to the youth and societies of OIC Member States and beyond. Amb. Elshad emphasized the need for concrete initiatives on the subject of youth migration, referring to his proposal in the opening ceremony for establishing a migration training center for trainers in migrant gateway countries.
The signed Programme for Cooperation establishes the framework for joint-cooperation on areas of significance, while paving the way for holding the 1st ‘African Youth Solidarity Forum’, the ‘ISESCO-ICYF-DC Intercultural Camp’, and ‘Youth Mobility and Exchange: Models, Assets and Perspectives’ international workshop to be hosted between the years 2018-2019.
