ICYF-DC PARTICIPATE THE 30TH SESSION OF COMCEC

ICYF-DC Delegation headed by H.E. Amb. Elshad Iskandarov, the President of ICYF-DC participated in the work of the 30th Session of COMCEC held on 25-28 November 2014, in Istanbul, the Republic of Turkey. The official opening of Ministerial meeting was held on 27 November with participation of the Honorable President of the Republic of Turkey H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, H.E. Dr. Iyad Amin Madani, the Secretary General of OIC and other high-level guests, including ministers and heads of international institutions.At the side of the event ICYF-DC President H.E. Amb. Iskandarov met with the respective heads of delegations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Islamic Republic of Iran, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as well as with H.E. Sheikh Saleh Kamel, the President of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture and H.E. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ali, the President of the Islamic Development Bank. ICYF-DC ongoing activities and programmes as well as new initiatives, in particular “Istanbul Youth Declaration – 10 Goals in 10 Years” document adopted by the 2nd General Assembly (9-11 October 2014) and Youth Capital programme were presented during the meetings. H.E. Amb. Iskandarov also discussed with H.E. Sheikh Saleh Kamel and H.E. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ali the possible ways of cooperation between the institutions on ICYF-DC platform namely Islamic Countries Young Entrepreneurs Network (ICYEN). Projects steaming out from the targets of “Istanbul Youth Declaration – 10 Goals in 10 Years” were also in the agenda of the mentioned meetings.

ICYEN platform and “Istanbul Youth Declaration – 10 Goals in 10 Years” were preliminarily presented by the ICYF-DC representative at the experts meeting of the 30th Session of COMCEC held on 25 November. Both initiatives were reflected in the Final Report of the event and member countries as well as concerned OIC institutions were called upon to cooperate with ICYF-DC towards implementation of joint projects to achieve the goals envisaged by these initiatives.
