The Inauguration Ceremony of the “Putrajaya – OIC Youth Capital 2017” International Programme was held in Putrajaya, Malaysia, on 8-9 April 2017. The Ceremony introduced various activities under the banner of OIC Youth Capital aimed at benefiting young people of the OIC Member States and strengthening bonds of Islamic solidarity. The official partners of the Programme are the Government of Malaysia (Ministry of Youth and Sports of Malaysia and Putrajaya Corporation) and ICYF-DC – the implementing agency of the OIC Youth Capital Programme. Inauguration Ceremony of Putrajaya – OIC Youth Capital 2017 kicked off with participation of H.E. Amb. Elshad Iskandarov, President of ICYF-DC and H.E. Khairy Jamaluddin, Minister of Youth and Sports of Malaysia.
In conjunction with the Inauguration Ceremony Putrajaya also hosted the OIC Youth Capital Food and Fashion Festival on the same dates, under the Putrajaya – OIC Youth Capital 2017 International Programme. The double-fold Festival co-organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Malaysia and ICYF-DC aims to bring together young entrepreneurs in the fields of Halal Food and Islamic fashion to showcase their projects and products as well as to exchange creative ideas, to build investment and collaborative partnerships at variety of thematic sessions. Serving as a new horizon in opening the minds of the young people to the challenging realms and norms existing in business, the festival will enable them to discuss and submit their projects and proposals to the relevant parties and possible partners.
In his speech, ICYF-DC President Amb. Elshad Iskandarov emphasized: “Without true unity and solidarity the Ummah cannot overcome the challenges it faces nowadays. The OIC Youth Capital Programme serves exactly these goals”.
Addressing the Ceremony, H.E. Khairy Jamaluddin, Minister of Youth and Sports of Malaysia stated: “As the OIC Youth Capital for 2017 and further on, we in Putrajaya will continue A Force for Good for achieving high targets of Islam and Islamic Civilization”
ICYF-DC President H.E. Amb. Elshad Iskandarov presented the special plaque of Putrajaya – OIC Youth Capital 2017 to H.E. Khairy Jamaluddin, the Minister of Youth and Sports of Malaysia and H.E. Dato Seri Hashim Ismail, the President of Putrajaya Corporation. The youth from the OIC geography received the symbolic keys of Putrajaya.
H.E. Amb. Elshad Iskandarov, President of ICYF-DC had a bilateral meeting with H.E. Br. Gen. Khairy Jamaluddin, Minister of Youth and Sports of Malaysia on 8 April 2017, on the sidelines of the Inauguration Ceremony of the Putrajaya – OIC Youth Capital 2017 International Programme. The parties discussed the planned activities of the Programme as well as exchanged letters of commitment on close cooperation towards successfully conducting the OIC Youth Capital Programme in Putrajaya, in 2017.
It was also agreed that the parties should develop mutual cooperation on different segments of youth development both, in Malaysia and OIC geography at large, including implementation of the OIC Joint Youth Action Plan and further development and adoption of the OIC Youth Strategy. And in conclusion to reporting on the Opening of “Putrajaya – OIC Youth Capital 2017” we put a small token of big appreciation brilliant and talented children of Putrajaya deserve for full of energy show prepared during the program.
