Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation (ICYF-DC), an affiliated institution to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemns the aggressive provocations carried out by the Armenian military forces against Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan on 2-3 April, 2016 targeting civilian population and armed forces of Azerbaijan with heavy weapons and commentates it as an act aimed at breaking peace and escalation of tension in the region.
ICYF-DC commends the necessary counter measures taken by Azerbaijan to protect its territories and safety of its population, acclaims the steps taken to liberate the strategic positions occupied previously by the Armenian forces and used as a platsdarm against Azerbaijani positions, fully supports the position and activities of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan towards protection of the territorial integrity of the country, considers as a natural right of the Republic of Azerbaijan the steps to be taken to liberate its occupied territories.
Taking into consideration the position of the Republic of Azerbaijan to solve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict by peaceful means declared oftentimes, ICYF-DC calls upon the international organizations to support this position of Azerbaijan, to achieve the fulfillment of the resolutions on the issue adopted previously in international fora and unconditional withdrawal of the Armenian military forces from the occupied territories and to increase the pressure on the Republic of Armenia aiming prolonging the process to shift it into the military dimension.
ICYF-DC expresses its thanks for their positions to the OIC Member States such as Pakistan, Turkey as well as to the OIC General Secretariat that supported Azerbaijan demonstrating solidarity in these days and declares that it will take the necessary steps towards opening discussions on the issue on the margins of the 13th Islamic Summit Conference and demonstration of the relevant position by the other OIC Member States and institutions.
